Rachel F. Stapleton has a PhD in Comparative Literature (early modern women’s writing). Rachel works in-house as an acquisitions editor at the University of Regina Press, in Regina, Saskatchewan. U of R Press publishes well-researched scholarly books that are accessible and jargon-free, as well as trade books based in solid research; areas of focus for the Press include Indigenous Studies and Indigenous Language Resources, Education, History, Environmental Studies, Social Justice, and Saskatchewan and the Prairies. Over the years, Rachel has worked as a freelance editor (humanities, social sciences, and trade nonfiction) and indexer, at a children’s book publisher, and at an independent bookstore; she has also, among other jobs, been a copywriter for a marketing agency and taught CPR and first aid. She is especially interested in chatting with folks who are interested in in-house acquisitions work.
